Description
1.) Korpisalo is a significant negative asset. Sens might be better off just sittting and hoping he plays better, but if they need cap and need to move him…

Jan Rutta can come in and provide some of the veteran presence (?) it was reported they were looking for, he is worth at most a fifth.
Early second round pick is valuable
Korpisalos contract is worth a 1st+ almost

Chycrun is worth a first second and third? Obviously the big question is whether he would resign or not, as he doesnt want to be a part of a rebuild. We could try to flip him, but Ottawa can just do that as well although they would need to try to get NHLers back.

Essentially this deal is using chycrun to dump Korpisalos contract and buy cap space? Would that be worth it after what they paid to acquire him?

My guess is they will try to fix RD this year somehow.

If it’s not drafting Parekh , it’s probably a hockey trade for Chychrun type of situation and/or still focusing on drafting RD with the Boston pick/ Sens 2nd

Their RD is the biggest organizational need and hardest position to fill externally , almost impossible to get

You think he only gets a late first? This is way more valuable, ten spaces back from a first round pick and you get out of the Korpisalo contract for free?

Depends. If they trade him at the draft with no extension probably 18-22 overall selection.

If it’s extended or Sens retain, might get a lot more

If thats the idea, why not go for this trade? Is Korpisalo’s contract not worth 20 draft spots?

If we offered the unprotected vegas first for Chychrun would that be enough?

My guess too, I think they should trade Chychrun and use the assets from that trade to get a legit top 4 RD that is U25. If not sign Roy or Pesce. Kinda weird how RD is the hardest to find despite nearly 75% of the world being right handed

They said next summer but I'd overpay for him as Nemec, Hamilton and now Casey could be their right side with Hughes and seighthier and Bahl on the left

I forgot Hamilton played on the devils for a sec. Yea they have a long jam at RD, he is very underrated and I don't blame you if you want to overpay

Ahh I see, should be interesting, Ottawa is a team just waiting to breakout all they need imo is an above average NHL caliber goalie and a legit top 4 RD

We cant have Mario Ferraro as our number 1 D again. Being this bad is not will harm our prospects. Like we should still finish 32nd but being in contention for worst team of cap era is bad even if we are rebuilding. Plus chychrun definitely fits the timeline that Grier keeps throwing out there which is trying for players in like 2-3 years

The 2 hardest positions to fill that every team that has one would demand a crazy overpay that the Sens cannot afford to pay

Goalies are weird and so random. Lehner went from not being qualified by Buffalo to being a vezina finalist the following year (Greco and Korn are goated). But like I said earlier you'd think with 75% of the world being right handed it would be easier to find quality RD vs quality LD

Apparently most right handed ppl shoot left . I didn’t know that. I’m right handed and always played right shot . I tried a left shot stick and was still able to play idk

In a way he is ideal for the tank

we wouldnt have to hold back on squad building to tank… i wouldnt want him because he’s good
