I think Graf will be a decent player, but you are really pushing it to think he's a 1st line guy.
Probably a 3rd line guy.
2nd if you are lucky.

Graf has been incredibly dominant in the NCAA for a couple years now. Only way to keep that game going is to put him into a position where he can massively excel. San Jose has the rare opportunity to pick up a free diamond player.

yeah there are a lot of players who were really good players at the NCAA level after not getting drafted.
Kerfoot, Butcher, ZAR are just some examples of these guys, I mean really every year there is one.
You really over estimate what you are getting.

I am not a San Jose fan, but how many of those players got an immediate top 6 shot?
I am a Rangers fan (Trivigno, Scanlin, etc...) so I understand what you are saying, but I have watched Graf now for 2 years, compared to Trivigno or someone like Vesey (HBA winner) is that he has been able to uphold this incredible standard of play for 2 seasons now.

Also looking at your recent teams made on CapFriendly, you would tend to agree with me.

the only reason he would get a top line spot in any team is for 2 reasons.
1. they have no help.
2. he gets paired with someone who can drag him kicking and screaming, McDavid, Crosby etc.. level player.

So no my acgm don't agree with you.

I'm realistic about what you are getting here. 2 good years at the NCAA level doesn't equate to 1st line player.
I'm not knocking the player here, i'm just being honest about it. Being honest about what you are getting out of a guy stops people from building him up to get the eventual fall.
That way they can just be the player they are.
As much as I like Graf as a player, he's just not the player you want to make him out to be. He'll be a good role player though. Most likely a 3rd line guy. Maybe he gets onto a 2nd line that depends on the depth that SJS will have. But I assure you, SJS will have more talented players than Graf to pick up top line spots. Especially drafting as high as they are.

If you create the team as 2024-25 Sharks you don't have to buy out all those guys.

Sharks do have decent prospects.

I'd like to see Havelid over Addison on RD.
