Adding expensive age to PIT is the last thing they need. Can't have that many buyouts either.

It wasn't surprising to look at your profile and see that you're a Capitals fan.

Caps fans aren’t allowed to appreciate Dubas?

The Wild literally did this for like 3 or 4 seasons…

Yeah and it's been a disaster for them proving why not to do it.

Disagree. They'd likely be even worse with Parise & Suter still on those deals

The situation is different, when all the money is gonna be against the cap, the pens will probably be in the basement, with still some bigger immovable contracts on the books, leaving no cap room for them to say retain for extra picks, take bad contracts on for picks, and possibly take some FAs that they could flip at the TDL. Also the only player id think theyd look at a buyout for is Graves, jarry is decent enough, and no better options exist (idc what pens fans say, Ned is not gonna be a great starter), smith can be traded out for minimal assets due to only having 1 year left (pens fans also make it seem like hes been completely atrocious, and ill agree hes been bad, but not to the extent most other pens fans think), and rakell when he came back from injury was decent enough at his cap hit.

Worst place to be is in mediocrity. No high end prospects or playoff money coming in. It's been a complete failure.
