I'm sure the new Utah owner would love all the old, expensive Cap players in exchange for some of their young players, makes total sense.

It's painfully short-sighted. They're going to do fine their first year or two. It's going to be their sustainment that is potentially in jeopardy. And trading for a bunch of past the prime players is very likely to send them into a massive rebuild only a few years into existence.

Your rant is rubbish, there is no negative long term effect here. Utah want a love at first sight team. They have a surplus of prospects. This deal may never happen but they will surround those prospects with proven pros and protection…Stamkos…not surprised if they go for Sid.

The deal will never happen for many reasons. One of the most likely is that Utah has no interest is torpedoing their long term competitiveness by making brain dead short sighted deals.

The Utah Capitals. Found their team name! I get this is fantasy and all but if you seriously wanted Ovi on his goal chase, the entire Utah squad could be offered and Ted Leonsis would turn it down without thinking twice.
