Marner for Crosby is all it would take. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, a 27 year old has a lot more value than a 36 year old. It's a loss for TO likely even at that but I would do it.

On the ice perhaps. Though even that is debatable given center is more valuable than winger. However reality is, Crosby is a massive money maker especially for a smaller market like Pittsburgh.

This gets the lafs number blocked incredibly fast lmao. one of the best players in history and still a top 5 center and you think all it takes is perimeter mitch and some mid/ low end prospects and a late 1st?
Try Nylander, knies and two 1sts. Just for sid alone. It'll cost a lot more for the dragon and bunting

He's 36, he has a very limited time left in his career. It will be up to him. If he wants to chase another cup, he'll dictate where he goes. Much like Kane

Pitts accepts, but Dubas gets fired as soon as the paperwork gets clear by league. No way you are trading a franchise player (even at the age of 36).

Biggest thing is that both major parts of this trade have NTC. Both Crosby and Marner refuse to waive. The deal is dead.

this trade is ridiculous... all of that would not get you Crosby let alone add Pete and bunting.

No doubt it is 100% up to Crosby and 100% of the evidence suggests he will stay with PIT his entire career regardless of what happens. What fans ignore/forget is the business side of things and an all time great like Crosby is a massive financial benefit especially to a small market team like PIT. FSG wouldn't trade him for a fair value return on the ice unless they were trying to go out of their way for him. Because even a single season is such a great profit generator for them there's almost no return value on any trade that would make sense.

Doubt Dubas can trade any of the core four without ownership approval and losing Crosby is a massive financial loss to FSG. Unless Crosby were adamant about wanting to leave AND ownership were willing to lose millions in profit, they aren't trading him. Much like WSH with Ovechkin. His goal scoring pursuit is a serious financial benefit to WSH and WSH is a large market.

I would like to meet your dealers pls

there is no realistic scenario where Sid gets traded, let alone for a bad offer like this one.

and no Marner for Sid one for one is a no brainer for Toronto but obviously Pit would decline. sure assists and points in the regular season are fan and all but Sid even at his age is on a different planet.

everyone in the world with a brain would much rather have the next 3 years of Crosby then the next 8 of Marner if they want to win something. and I like the leafs and I think Marner is a great player.

this is not even my opinion: nhl poll from gms and players on who they'd take for a game 7 to save their life, everybody (don't remember the percentage but he won lol) voted for Crosby even over mcdavid and the rest of them.

people forget too easily that Sid is the 3rd best player EVER maybe even second.

I think you over estimate Crosby's draw at this stage of his career. If he gets traded it won't be a huge return. It will be comparable to Kane.

Heavy bias here. If Crosby wants to chase a cup, he will dictate the whole thing which will limit suitors. He's also 36, his best days are behind him. He's obviously still incredible but he'll be taking a more secondary role where he goes if he goes.

You aren't getting a ridiculous offer for a 36 year old.

And you grossly underestimate his value. At worst he's still a top 10 center in the league this year. Kane still has some elite offensive aptitude, but a one dimensional winger- who also carries major health risks with his hip surgery- would be viewed as worth WAY less to 32/32 NHL orgs.

ok so let me explain you how this actually works:

you are giving up:
5th and a 7th = no value for pens, or at all
timmins + mcCabe <<<<<< pettersson
minten <<<< bunting (good prospect but nothing to be exited about, and buns is a very good player able to play top 9 wherever)

and

marner + a late first rounder for SIDNEY CROSBY.

if Toronto were to make a deal like this they become instant favourites for the cup. (if they don't mess up the FA signings)
