Unlikely PLD gets moved, more unlikely the Kings could get two 2nd rounders for him.

Canes will just re-sign Necas. You can have KK though

I don't think this is a realistic offseason for the Caps.

I think if anyone approaches the Kings with two 2nds and a prospect for PLD, they'll say yes. You're also forgetting that he's still young and hasn't reached his prime yet, he still has value and he's not too far removed from being a productive player. PLD could also be the type of player to ignite Ovi's goal scoring.

100%, I'm thinking no one offers that.

I think the premise of it is realistic and maybe not the trades themselves. I think GMBM will make 1 or 2 big trades and a couple of UFA signings to try to capitalize(lol get it?) on a pretty successful season. The trades/signings I chose though should be the ones targeted since they're all young players and would make the team competitive immediately while also keeping the team competitive past Ovi's retirement.

I think someone would, especially a team who needs a playmaker to spark offense in its goal scorers.

Necas might price himself out of what the Canes can pay. Practically their entire D-Core needs to be resigned which will cost a pretty penny. So does Teräväinen, Jarvis, Drury, Martinook, Guentzel and Noesen. Necas is easily worth over 6 mil which the Canes realistically may not be able to pay. If the right offer comes up and a large enough price is paid(like the the proposal I made) I can guarantee he will be traded.

Necas had a down year, which helps the re-signing. He's an RFA so he has no rights. We own his rights. We can afford him at around 6m per and we can just bridge Jarvis.

Pesce and Skjei probably wont sign either,

Dubois isn’t going anywhere. I’m willing to bet he has a bounce back year.

Also his contract really isn’t that bad. The cap goes up and will decrease the % against the cap. Couturier has a worse contract. Huberdeau has a worse contract. Lindholm will have about the contract as Dubois and he’s older with around the same production. How’s Johnny hockey doing?

There’s plenty worse contracts and usually they’re older players with max contracts.

Dubois is 25! He’ll be fine

Yes but he can just choose not to sign if they don't give him the price he wants. I also do not think that the Canes can afford him around that cap because they'll need to sign the other forwards listed and they'll also need to find and sign replacements for Pesce and/or Skjei. Signing Jarvis(which is a necessity) will also cost lots in cap space. If they resign Necas they will not have the cap space to fill the NEEDS and come out as a worse team.

Noesen is gone. Martinook is 50/50. Bridge Jarvis, and Guentzel might take a slight pay cut. Teuvo had a down year and if we don't keep him then one of our prospects will eventually replace him.

We are fine. Even if we were going to trade Necas, it will not be for futures. We are a contending team, not a rebuilding one.

In your trade, you're also giving us back 5.3m in cap that we can just.. you know.. put towards Necas? Lol.

That PLD contract is awful. It was awful when it was signed and is now worse. There is no way the caps touch that contract without some kind of retention

"Dubois' contract isn't that bad" then proceeds to list 2 of the widely thought of worst contracts in the league as comps

That was my point. Thanks for noticing.
