Worse goaltending, still not a great defence and less scoring.

I think MTL trade is fair. In fact I expect a trade very much like that to go down…. Personally, I would rather see Struble, Mailloux, Reiny and Hutson in Laval for one year which gives Barron the chance to play for the Habs for another year and increase his value.

Ned had a sub 3 GAA and 907 save percentage both better then samsonov so goaltending is definitely not worse. Adding a legit #1 in montour alongside rielly as well as a solid top 4 dman in Barron doesn’t really give the leafs a “not great defence” title as yes it can be better but it’s definitely much improved.

Ya I definitely agree with the reinbacher, Hutson, mailloux Laval statement but I feel like one year of Barron isn’t going to increase his value that much so habs maybe wanna make room for a crowded blue line early. Savard is another guy that I’d trade for instead of Barron with that exact same leaf’s package ^

Ned sucks out loud and samsonov has been a better goalie for longer, and his horrible season start doesnt change that.
Montour is fine, but he's not near as good as you're hyping him, the rest of the defence is incredibly unimpressive. Better? Sure, but that's only because last year treliving thought having half your guys be 6th defenders and 2 others being 4th defenders was a good idea.

I don’t know if Barron even costs that much, hasn’t shown anything to this point. Fresh start for him and Robo could be good for both sides

Habs pass on the package from the Leafs... undersized soft forwards.

He scored 6 goals in like 30 games…. Don’t agree he is showing offensive flashes
