It'll cost more to dump Holl.

He'll be bought out.

Can't see Yzerman signing Mono for 4 years given his injury history.

I think Holl at $1.7M would cost next to nothing.

... LAK definitely ain't the team to do it, though.

Thought it might be a creative way for la to fill a bottom 3 minute eater spot on the cheap while they try to score a #1 goalie and potentially lose Roy

tend to agree with buying out holl being the more likely option but i just wanted to explore an alternative. That is definitely an easy option and we'll have dead cap whether we trade or buyout. I do, however, think that holl has some trade appeal in the right situation. It don't think that is very far off and could see giving a 3rd instead of a 4th, another 500k retained, etc. It would just be nice to minimize long term dead cap with trade vs buyout.

As far as Monahan goes, yes the injury worry is the party line. My thought there is that while I don't think Steve will do anything he's not comfortable with, I think he's open to anything if he is confident in his research and info. Monahan is healthy now post injury and is a guarantee 25-30g 2C with a much longer consistant resume than copp or compher had when Y gave them their similar deals. Y has clearly shown aa appetite to try filling that spot (his success or lack of it is for another post lol) idk if he's willing either but I'm confident the injury history alone won't SLAM the door. Who knows maybe the market as a whole dictates that he's a 2-3 yr term guy...even better!

NSH likely declines. Not for value, but more because he isn't needed. Zucker has said he would like to sign in NSH, and even if he doesn't L'Heureux likely makes the team next year based on how well he has played this year. There just likely isn't room for him.

Good to know. I, admittedly, don't know anything about their prospect pool. Do you think Beauvillier and Sherwood both come back? I was thinking Fabbri as more of a middle 6 replacement/scoring boost from Beauvillier at similar cap, albeit slightly different players

Sherwood, yes. Beauvillier, no. Your logic is sound when it comes to Fabbri, and I think he could potentially fit into NSH's middle six. The problem is NSH's prospect pool is filled with a lot top tier wing prospects (Tomasino, L'Heureux, Wood, Kemell, and Fink) who are all currently projecting top 6 or top 9 in the NHL. If you watch the upcoming AHL playoffs between Grand Rapids and Milwaukee, you'll see Tomasino, L'Heureux, and Kemell all playing in the top 6 there. Wood and Fink are in the NCAA.

At least one of those 3 is bound to make the NHL next year, with the most likely being either Tomasino or L'Heureux. My money is on L'Heureux personally, and with Zucker also saying he wants to resign in NSH, there just isn't room for Fabbri as those two likely fill in the 2nd and 3rd lines in NSH. It would be between Sherwood and Fabbri, so depending on the cost for Sherwood, Fabbri just doesn't make sense
