Call Tavares contract dust all you want, there’s no way the Leafs take on dust for 3 season. Anderson at 50 percent retention and a 1st (not Montreals would be a starting point)

I don't know why Toronto would entertain that. They give away a useful player, get essentially two 4th-liners that won't really contribute, and get very little cap relief in the process? And then get utterly f*** next year with the additional $9M+ they wouldn't have had if they just kept Tavares?

Hell, Columbus would just take Tavares for free, no retention, and I imagine that's a more attractive offer.

Why would Toronto do that. It doesn't save them much money on the cap and Anderson + Dovorak combined will produce 1\3 of the offence Tavares would.
