I'm really curious what Nashville fans think of a Marner trade.

From what I've heard and read and can guess, I think if Marner does indeed get traded, it'll be to Nashville, Chicago, or Vegas.

No way McDonagh waives his NMC to go to Toronto from NASH lol Lowest taxes to to highest taxes lol And TO would not want him if he did. The Leafs arent going to take the trouble of freeing up cap space to make their team better, only to blow it all on a washed up D man with too many years left on his deal. To make a Marner for Saros deal make sense for TO. Saros would need to sign an extension first and so would Marner. And Saros's number would have to be very reasonable. Less than he is likely willing to take.

you didn't want to copy and paste? hahaha.

One thing you said that was super interesting that I didn't think of until later was the other team not wanting to pay the bonus. This trade makes more sense on July 2nd with that 1st rounder being the 2025 pick and being conditional on the worse of Nashville's 2 picks.

Somebody is going to get Marner next season with a 10.9 cap hit and only pay him $775,000. That's going to be the best value contract for that owner in the history of the NHL.

I think it's gotten through to a few lol I'll copy and paste some new comments on the endless Marner/Saros deals now wink

I actually hope Nashville does go after Marner, but for pieces we can afford to move right now lol
