No chance SEA trades their number 2 half retained for a number 5-6 and a third lmao.

Neither of these trades is particularly close to being accepted, IMO. Both good targets but you're gonna need to give more at 50% retention.

Love it . . . Every Toronto fan I listen to (loudest being Dangle!) thinks Liljegren is garbage most nights, but he's top-notch when it comes to trade value! Sure, Francis will give you the Kraken's top-pairing RD at half-retained (already on a good contract I might add!) for the privilege of your time, Mr. Treliving. What? . . . a third rounder and some Boston Pizza coupons, too!?! Oh thank you, kind sir!

I can see Tre trading for a goalie, it's a theme he did with the Flames trading 3rd Rd'ers (M. Smith, B. Elliott, D. Vladar) but you'd have to find a backup goalie. I have said Daccord from the same Kraken team you traded with, but the Krakheads seem to over value the late blooming 1 yr wonder.

That's a rich statement . . . I've heard some pretty bold takes on Woll's "value" that far exceed optimism given his small sample size of play, also. I would agree that Seattle fans need to be cautious to anoint him too soon, but (like the Leafs) Seattle has had disappointing goaltending since arriving on the scene, and as they have likely made their bed with Grubauer, he holds tremendous value and it makes ZERO sense to trade the only goalie who has performed well thus far.

Having faith in an ex Sen goalie is dangerous.

Yet you suggest Leafs trade for him to serve as backup! (if I'm understanding your original post, correctly!)

Daccord is capable of playing 30 games top, expecting him to play 60 games is pure craziness.

50 games for Daccord last season, but sure. Sorry, is Woll being the starter your plan, or are you a beLeafer that a Marner trade will produce the bonafide starter Leafs desire??

I would agree that Seattle fans need to be cautious not to anoint Daccord the starter too soon, but (like the Leafs) Seattle has had disappointing goaltending since arriving on the scene, and as they have likely made their bed with that horrible Grubauer contract, Daccord holds tremendous value to the team and it makes ZERO sense to trade the only goalie who has performed well thus far. prev post.

Wow, 50 games, huh, where is M. Jones after playing 48 games for your team>?

100% be cautious believing Daccord is a bonafid #1 starter.

Jones put up a 2.99 GAA and .887 Sv% in his 48 starts and was largely unseated by Grubauer post All-Star Break. Daccord had a 2.46 GAA and .916 Sv% in his 50 starts. By any metric, Daccord was far superior to Jones when comparing their respective performances with the Kraken, so you can't really say they're comparable at this stage of their respective careers or use Jones' trajectory to extrapolate that of Daccord.

Daccord might not be a bonafide #1 starter yet, but he just had a very good season and was a well-above average NHL goalie no matter how you slice it. We'll see if his strong play continues, but I think if the Kraken maintain their strong defensive structure and figure out a way to give Daccord a true partner in net to create a 1A/1B situation, he'll be just fine.
