I'm going to start by saying this is probably ridiculous.

But if any team is crazy enough to make this trade, its Vegas. Vegas always seems to find the right time to move on from their guys and Mark Stone has missed huge chunks of every season he's been in Vegas. He hasn't played more than 55 games in a season since the 19-20 pandemic shortened season, he played 77 games in the season he was traded to Vegas, and he's never played a full season. That said, the Leafs would KILL to get this deal in a Marner return.

It's a crazy trade and likely doesn't work because of all the no-trades, but it might be crazy enough to work.

If Stone is willing to take his usual full year on LTIR and then come back at full health for the playoffs, Leafs would take this deal. If Stone is healthy and actually wants to play. Its a hard pass. Also, no Liljegren or Dewar. TO keeps them. Its a Marner for Hague and cap space deal.
