I was prepared to say it's impossible to say where the Canucks roster will be in 2018 with a lot of internal competition shaking out this camp, and with trades made at the playoff deadline. (that blue line might be 50% wrong as one example)
This is just unrealistic in any scenario:
- Edler is 110% not even considering a trade while under his contract, and that's well known.
- Erkisson is a good player, his numbers last season were crap but I don't believe that reflects on him individually for more than a second.
- Clarkson brings waiver hell for 3 years, and Canucks will want to use all of their cap space before then (after subtracting retained salary on Luongo)
This site has a bias for action because it's intellectually stimulating, but even accepting your premise that Edler and Eriksson will be moved there's nothing interesting or clever about the trades. It's just a write-off for two slots to mentally make room for some guys already in the system who will win their spots, and have roster space opened for them at that time. Bet on Dorsett being retired due to nerve/spine injury and that's half the space you opened at no cost
