Sorry but Calgary does not need Iggy in the line up (would not go well in the locker room) when he is ready to retire - 1 day contract and retire #12 he has earned that!

As for who would replace him... Foo or Lazar would be my best guesses - Janko has a better shot at making the opening night roster than Poirier but who knows what happens at cap...
PS Poirier may be listed as a LW but like Frolik he plays his off wing (RW)... Speaking of Frolik - take him off the top line and put him back with Backs where he belongs and will play all year! Ferland will play the top line - his spot to loose anyway...

As for trading Brouwer - well 1st we give him 1 last chance then... well even with a prospect or 2 and eating 1/3 his salary it may be a tough sell but would be nice to get the gremlin off our backs! Unfortunately for a GM this means admitting you messed up when signing the player and that can be a tough pill to swallow for some GM's!

If Brouwer is as bad as you portrayed, no team is going to trade him for picks only. A bad contract would have to come to the Flames, so what's the benefit.

Just took a look at Iginla's +- and at -30 makes you wonder (yeah he spent most of the year with a non-defense team but.....) is he too much of liability because his scoring has dropped off and his defense has never been great.
