Yeah no thanks, Right now Mantha is pretty much untouchable unless he's dealt in a package deal for a top 4 LHD/RHD Which you can't offer us right now.

With Pleky's salary, you can't afford 9.5Mil$ for Draisaitl. And if you could, with Price contract next year, you end up with what Edm will experience in the coming years. That means, next year, you don't have the money to resign Mantha, Danault, Jerabek. If the cap goes up by 2Mil$, you'll have about 3.7Mil$ to resign one of the 3 and have to trade the other two or become really good at Tetris and do complicated tades IOT afford keeping them while giving for picks higher paid players. You would be in big trouble in my view.

You would need to plan the following: You have 22 players in your lineup and with Plekanec you are at -300K$. If you look at next year, it would look something like this:
Right now: -300K$
Cap goes up: +2Mil$
Don't sign Plekanec: +6Mil$
Price new contract: -4Mil$
Resign Mantha: -3Mil$
Resign Danault: -2Mil$
Resign Jerabek: -2Mil$
Plekanec replacement in the lineup: -1Mil$
So now you are in 2018 and you are missing 4.3Mil$ at least, probably more. So Shaw is the first Draisaitl victim and is traded, but you're still missing 400K$. Byron is the second victim and Scherbak makes the lineup but still missing 100K$. Then Mitchell is not resigned and McCarron take his spot, so now you're +150K$ but still have to replace Shaw in the lineup. Who's next victim? See where it goes and it keeps going like that everytime a Young player ends his entry level contract. So you become really good at Tetris.

The quality and the stats of the two are similar. You get a 2nd. Why would Holland refuses ?

You should have read my all comment, not just the figures. You would see where my numbers are from. Plekanec is not injured and you cannot place him on LTIR and get rid of 6Mil$ with a mouse click. So this is why, your lineup starts at -287,143$ and not at +5,712,857. Bergevin is definately going to offer a 2 years reduced contract to Danault, so that is why +2Mil$ for him is more realistic. And unless there is a surprised trade from Begevin, the only one with the offensive flair and skills set to play with Weber is going to be Jerabek. If its the case, he will possibly make 40 points and Bergevin is probably gonna try to re-sign him for 4 or 5 years at 5Mil$.
