The Panthers, on an internal budget and possibly worried about Ekblad's concussion issues, deal him for a solid top pairing defensive D on a good contract, a potential future top pairing D, and a pick.

If I am trading CT and OJ and a 2nd, I would be expecting a top line Forward in return. Steep price for someone with concussion issues already in his career and a heavy cap hit.

Hi reggie,

His cap hit is high, but when healthy he's a legit stud Dman already at only 21. The concussion issues are concerning, but plenty of players have overcome them in their careers. And I actually feel the team has a bigger need for a game-changer on the blueline than at forward. Our most promising prospects (besides Juolevi) are all forwards.
