Description

I know some might hate this, but I think this makes sense for the Flyers. They have a great young wave of talent coming up, but by the time they are ready Philly's quality veterans will have really started to see their play decline. Some will have moved on for nothing (or worse re-signed for big money) while others will be clogging their payroll and forcing the Flyers in making some tough choices with their young wave of talent.

This clears a lot of current and future money off the books and does so in a way that allows them to still acquire plenty of assets to supplement their young prospects.

Landing three more 1st rounders next year allows them to be a power broker in the draft, with 5 picks in the top 31.
