Danis Zaripov is 36 years old Russian forward who has never played in the NHL. He is one of the most high-scorers in the KHL, but he is unable to play there for 2 years because of failing in an anti-dopping test. It seems he is eligible to play in the NHL. Rangers and G Knights have shown some interest about signing him. Any opinion about him? Can someone be successful at his age as a rookie in the NHL?

His points per game has decreased each of the last four years. Couple that with his age plus the failed drug test, I can't see too many teams wanting to take a risk on him. Plus, he's never played in North America. But since Friedman said it, I'm inclined to believe him. Vegas is looking to not be very good for the foreseeable future, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving him a 1-2 year deal.

I can see the Knights taking a chance on him. The worst that happens is he sits in the press box and teaches the young kids what to do.
