The forwards are okay, the goaltending could be better, and the defence is ... well ... probably one of the worst in the league.

The new building is going to feel awful big and lonely if Holland doesn't get the team on an upward climb by 2020.

Getting lucky, like with those UFA signings, are long odds. Probably will need to gut the roster and make room for more rolls of the dice until there is some momentum and direction.

Playing dead like EDM/BUF/TOR/COL doesn't seem to payoff under the new lottery rules, so at least Holland has that going for him being the guy to do a rebuild-in-motion
