I don't see Ness staying up, and I don't think Chiasson gets that much. Bowey is likely to stay up, and I think Graovac stays up. Of DSP, Walker, Graovac, and Chiasson, I think DSP has been least impressive - although still pretty good.

Not happy about losing Schmidt and Johansson. Schmidt was unavoidable, but Johannson was due to poor management. As for younger players, the forwards look good. Burakovsky is ready to step into a bigger role, as is Wilson. Vrana has top-6 skill, and might start on the 3rd. Walker, Graovac, Chiasson and Smith-Pelly should be more than capable of filling the 11-13F slots.

The real question is whether the young dmen will be able to fill the gaps there. Djoos was very good in the AHL last season, and Bowey has a lot of potential. Beyond them, Caps don't have anyone who appears NHL-ready besides Ness, who's an AHL-NHL tweener. And they have no cap space. Having an All-Star goalie should relieve some of the pressure on the defense.

Yah, Johansson was always tough to play against for Pens. Ive read some good things on Vrana and heard Chiasson had a good camp. But ur D is in same position our bottom 6 C's are in (unproven and not as good as guys in there place last year.) Just think that Orpik contract killed u guys? But i have a wierd feeling it will be Pens & Caps battle in playoffs again?
