Losing season in style

Created by: LarkinTheNextOne
Team: 2017-18 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 30, 2017
Published: Sep. 30, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No body wants our mediocre players in an attempt to move Sheahan and Sproul. AA continues to hold out and Detroit unfortunately doesn’t get nearly as many points from OT games this season. Embrace a few years of tough hockey. Nice new arena though !

Larkiin: Seemed to be a lot of empty seats last night in Detroit. Thought a Leaf/Wing preseason game in a new arena would have been a hot ticket. Yea, the Wings look like they are going to non contenders for a few years, but geez, I hope they don't lose their fan base.

You are right. Last couple games are concerning as both the Leafs and Chicago should be big draws. The guys on TV said it was sold out, but looked like less than 10,000 in the seats. Maybe the ticket prices are too high and they can’t fill the new stadium. Tough position with a weak team to watch. The silver lining is draft years ahead look pretty solid. Fingers crossed.
