I could see the CBJ trade, but the Leafs need Horton to stay on the LTIR for future cap space.

Yea the only way CBJ takes Girardi is if we take back Clarkson so that isn't out of this world

Also, the Leafs would happily pay Horton not to play for them than take on Staal's contract.
