That's not nearly enough for Trouba, and Winnipeg doesn't really need Grubauer (for now). Hellebuyck has been fantastic to start the season, maybe this is his breakout where he solidifies himself as the Jets' goalie of the future. Why trade a top pairing defenseman for someone you don't need? Besides, Gruby's value is at an all-time low right now. Hasn't played well since the Tampa game.

2 games behind a depleted Caps defense does not diminish Grubi's overall value. There are teams that need a very reliable #2 and / or budding #1 goalie option and the ask should be an NHL player (defense preferably) or 2 reasonably good draft picks.

The Caps should look at Trouba as they are watching Carlson's value decline...both players need a change of location.

I like the idea, but that’s wouldn’t be enough to land Trouba. A more fair trade would be Grubi, 2nd and a defensive prospect. Would be awesome if the Caps got him though.

Grubauer+ 2 3rd round picks, Not nearly enough for Jaboc Trouba.
