Description
I'm not sure Yzerman would make any of these moves since he's always a guy who looks "beyond this season" but I feel these could be moves that are made without necessarily hurting the future as long as we make the remaining draft picks count.

Would still have Katchouk, Yan able to take a LW spot next season. Cirelli, Volkov, or Stephens to play C, Raddysh or Joseph can play the RW. Still have Foote, Cernak, Masin, and Hajek could compete for a 6th or 7th D-man spot next season.

Boyle is the perfect 4th line centre and Tampa fans would love for him to come back, plus to clear out Callahan's contract. Stafford is a UFA who will likely get paid next season given his success thus far with Hischier. Would have to give up a prospect and a good pick for this deal so that's what I did.

Mike Green will not be in Detroit next year. They have some cap issues and I don't think they'll want him to return for a price. Tampa like's Dotchin a lot, but he's more or a depth 2-way guy. Green would come in adding another weapon to improve an already stellar powerplay. Thew in Sustr as Detroit may want to try either of them out.

Sbisa: Vegas is still looking to move him and Tampa management still doesn't seem to trust Koekkoek. Sbisa simply brought in as insurance in case of injuries in the playoffs (Ex. Streit, Hainsey in Pittsburgh last year after guys went down)

Tavares: So many things have pointed to him leaving New York next summer. He'll never admit it because that's bad publicity, but it doesn't seem like he's resigning. New York won't want to let a play of his caliber go for nothing, so I set the bar at what I think everyone does for a star player. A 1st Round Pick, top prospect, and a returning NHL Top 6 guy. This is a high price but I think Tampa could make it as they have prospect depth and could even throw in more, plus it's a chance to get Johnson off the books. He's a good player, but for 7 more years I won't be surprised if that ends up a regretful contract.

Komarov: JT Brown is another of those guys Tampa management/coaching just doesn't seem fully trusting towards. Toronto still don't consider themselves a cup contender needing to improve their defense before making a run. Komarov is an impending UFA and Toronto has plenty of prospects to take his place. They don't want him to walk away so Tampa can get him for a D prospect, pick, along with Brown since he is still an NHL guy who can keep the Leafs competitive the remainder of the season instead of bringing in an AHL guy. I know Komarov is listed as a LW, but he has definitely played on the RW as well.

This seems like to big of a shakeup for a team that’s been really good. I think minimal adds should be made. Maybe a winger and possibly a defenseman.

No way can Tampa afford Tavares plus give a huge contract to Kucherov after next season Talking about Detroit having cap issues Detroit is in better shape next year then Tampa with no cap increase Tampa has $11 million for 6 more players Detroit has $17 million including Franzens LTIR for 8 more players No way will Yzerman add all of these players and no way will Yzerman deal Dotchin for a rental in Mike Green.

While Tampa has good players taking up that cap. Would you rather have the cap tied to Ericsson, Abdelkader, DeKeyser, Helm, Nielsen, etc or with Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, Palat, etc?

Notice how I said, "I'm not sure Yzerman would make any of these moves" ?

Tampa doesn't have any cap issues for next year. They're only UFA's are Kunitz, Brown, Sustr, and Condra (All easily replaced) and RFAs in Namestnikov (They already have 3M cap space to give a raise) and Koekkoek (who might not be with the team) Detroit, on the other hand, have Larkin, Mantha, Athanasiou, Frk, and Wilson to resign then decisions to be made regarding Green and Mrazek.

Also, I never said Tavares was a resign. All of these players would likely be rentals minus Boyle as his is the only contract that runs into next season. The goal is a cup for this season. This team could get it, and I think the majority of the fanbase would be pleased as these deals don't really sacrifice the future for reasons I mentioned in the description. Dotchin and these prospects and picks are expendable as Tampa has many others ready to step in beyond this season.

I think it would take a little more to get Tavares, but it's close.

All the while Detroit has no cap space already... Franzen and his LTIR putting them right against the top.

I can agree on that. This all being theoretical of course, I just think these are deals that are possible to improve the team. Might as well make one big post instead of 5-6 little ones.

It all falls to Garth Snow who I think everyone can agree isn't the greatest GM... and how much pressure he is under. If he's on the chopping block if Tavares walks away with no return, he'll take the best offer even if it isn't a big enough return, plus as my trade description mentioned, Tampa has more prospects even they could throw at this such as a Mitchell Stephens or Mathieu Joseph, or Boris Katchouk, I just stayed with the base model.
