Not letting me type sometimes so just look here for explanations if there isn't with the team
Oilers take Ekblad. They need help on d and Nurse paired with him gives me who is a Flames fan nightmares
Flames take Point the Calgary boy. He also is 1 game away from winning the cup for the 2nd season in a row and we could use a player that can play center if Monahan is traded
Isles. This is the lowest I could see Reinhart. Could be a good 2C behind Barzal or a RW for Barzal
Vancouver. Good winger for Pettersson. Both Swedish could have amazing chemistry
Dont Know Carolina's needs to well but can slot in well on the 2nd line IMO
Toronto. I think a Larkin/Matthews/Marner line could explode together
Winnipeg I would say Winnipeg would gladly keep there original pick if he is still available
Anaheim. Good younger player that could be amazing for them when there rebuild is over

The thing about 2014, there was a clear-cut top 4 of Ekblad/Reinhart/Draisaitl/Bennett. That was agreed upon leaguewide

For the Flames, where it hurts is the rest of the draft. Sure, Bennett could have been better in Calgary, but this was their 2nd draft of the rebuild and they whiffed on every pick after Bennett.
Mason McDonald over Demko, was a headscratcher even the moment the pick was made. Hunter Smith was an overager that played on a stacked team, that one felt like a Burke pick.

I hate to be too critical of picks because it's so hard to project what an 18yr old will be in 3-5 years, but those two were fair to question from the git-go.

The Brayden Point thing is an interesting one too. Every team passed on him. The thing is, 2014 is still far enough back where the league really wasn't prioritizing speed and skill as much as they are today. It was the tail-end of the big, strong players being coveted. Teams also questioned Point's skating, despite a fantastic season with MJ.
