Fabian Wagner Scouting Reports

Winnipeg selected Wagner in the sixth round (175th) in 2022. The left shot forward will slot into Team Sweden's bottom six forward group. Wagner is a strong skater. He's quick out of the gate. His speed is an asset on the penalty kill. He pressures the puck in his zone and up ice. Wagner is unlikely to see a role on the power-play. It will be a bonus for team Sweden if he chips in with some secondary offense. Wagner, in his current form, is best described as a two-way 'energy' forward.

The kind of forward who upon first glance looks like a threat to create offense and contribute on the PP. He has the ability to play quick and fast. At times he's around the play offensively and scoring chances develop. Unfortunately there are long stretches, in games, that he blends in and provides little impact.
A bit of an enigma overall. He appears to have a foundation of skill that projects to be a potential secondary scoring threat but his consistency is a concern.
