This likely results in the overall ratings prior to 2023 being decreased in comparison to reports since Sept 2023.For an `Apples to Apples` comparison between players, we recommend only comparing reports before, or after, Sept 2023.
Results will average out accordingly as more data is accumulated.

Minten broke camp with the Leafs, at the beginning of the year, after a solid training camp. He returned to Kamloops (WHL) before being traded to the Blades. His scoring stats are from both stops in the WHL so far this season.
The Leafs selected Minten in the second round (38th) in 2022. The 6'2 192lbs forward can play both center and the wing. He's responsible defensively, and capable of taking key face-offs in all three zones if required. Minten moves well, has the hockey sense to be used in all situations and the offensive upside to provide better than secondary scoring for Team Canada.

High end compete
Doesn't cut corners
Solid in the face-off circle - enabling team to start with the puck off draws / especially in the defensive zone
Sound hockey IQ - skill set to be used in all situations - battles for space in the offensive zone - reads the play and finds 'soft' ice to make himself available as option
Quick catch and release - shoots the puck with accuracy - equal parts shooter/distributor

Trending: Up
Trending up in almost every category. Being used in all situations at the Major Junior level. Reliable detail in all three zones. Some bump to his game physically. Quick release from distance and coming off the half wall. Tracks back to assist defensively. Fronts pucks / blocks shots. Good skill / not elite. Potential (2F) or high end (3F). The fact he is trustworthy enough to penalty kill and start in his defensive zone / win draws makes him an even more useful prospect on projection. Skating mechanics are in fine - requires more power out of the gate and in motion between the blue lines.

Trending: Up
A good size prospect who brings reliable compete and detail. His ability to take key defensive zone face-offs, penalty kill, and match up against top lines is attractive. Not a player who is a threat off the rush at this stage of his development. His pace has room to improve. He has better than average puck skill and sees the ice. His role on the PP is usually net front. He is willing to battle around the crease and find rebounds and tips. Half of his goals in 2021-2022 came on the PP (10). If his skating improves he has a chance to be a bottom 6 NHL prospect.
