LaCombe is evolving at the NHL level. He's being asked to play hard minutes defensively.
The bulk of his ice time is coming at ES and PK
He's a fantastic skater who's quick to space and can lead the rush when space is available.
His agility allows him to jump to areas ahead of most of his opponents.
His physical battle, and overall commitment on the defensive side has been mostly sound for a young player at this level.
He projects as a '2-way D' who should provide some secondary offense in time. He was a proven point producer at the college level.
To start the season he is averaging 20:20 TOI - 16:52 ES - 3:08 PK
He's been credited with 12 hits and 23 shot blocks.
Huge upside. Part of the Ducks 'core' future on the back end.

Solid hockey IQ. He is used in all situations
Ability to feel pressure and spin off checks with the puck on his stick
Outlets pucks very well. Sees the ice and make responsible reads.
A transitional 'D'
At times he will join the rush to add an extra layer off the attack.
Potential for more offense. He can afford to take more risk than he does.
