Big body. Not physical. In the way more than punishing. Uses long reach to his advantage along the boards and around the net in the offensive zone.
A 4F at even strength more than a 3F - but remains an impact player on the PP.
Pace is barely adequate for the speed of today's NHL game. Not a transition threat.
Defensive detail ranges depending on how long he is tasked with small areas defending in his zone / quickness becomes a factor defending in space.

AVG TOI (16:20) Being used at ES and on the PP. Does not PK.
Veteran winger who plays to an identity. Net front / goal line step and stuff on the PP. Works the wall and shields pucks in the offensive zone. Almost always ends up at the net creating screens and tips when pucks are up top. Not the player you want to lead the rush between the blue lines in transition. Average skater. His overall impact, offensively, is trending down at ES but his PP contribution is still an element.
AAV makes him a difficult player to acquire without help. One year left on contract.
