Still developing - teases with the look of a player who could end up as a solid 2PD - other times he struggles to execute with the puck / lacks off (and on) the puck battle defensively
Ended the (22/23) playing for Team Canada at the World Championships and looked capable of quarterbacking the PP. He has also been thrust into the role with the Canadiens occasionally. Leans '2-way D ' with a secondary transitional element.
His hockey IQ is in place. He has sound spatial awareness in all three zones. Additionally he has a good release from distance , will pinch down to keep pucks alive , and makes plays moving the puck out of his zone and in the offensive zone. Issue is consistency right now. He competes - just needs to execute better at times.

Good size. Moves well. Brings skill and vision. More of a distributor than a shooter.
Agile. Has ability to spin off pressure and skate pucks up ice. On the offensive blue line he 'walks' the blue line to open up options to make plays.
A 'bumper' in the defensive zone. He isn't a punishing player.
Top 4 NHL 'D' on projection. Bulk of his minutes will be skated at ES and PP. Not likely a PK #1
