He's been a healthy scratch - recently - for nine straight games.
Polarizing player who's impact and detail ranges wildly at times. Doesn't produce much offense
Big body. Hasn't been playing with enough physical push back / engagement. In his last five game segment he was only credited with 9 hits and 2 shot blocks.
When he does dress, his TOI has been trending down - averaging between 13 - 17 minutes - deployed at even strength only.

Good size. Rangy. Long reach. Doesn't back down along the wall or out front his net. Battles.
Average with the puck on his stick. Execution ranges. Has the legs to join the rush at times.
Issues arise when he struggles to contain opponents along the boards. He engages, but his read/react/recover is at times deliberate and leads to some chaotic moments below the hash marks in his zone. Had over (150) hits playing for Toronto in (22/23). No issues with his compete. Detail ranges.

There were several scenarios in 21/2 that he was closer to being a 7th D option than a regular who can play key minutes in hard games. Lost his confidence handling the puck for stretches resulting in far too many turnovers in all areas of the ice
Despite his stature he doesn't make up for his lack of detail and execution with an overly physical element. Might be best for a fresh start elsewhere.
