Juuse Saros Scouting Reports

Saros came on in the second half of the season - giving the Preds the high end goaltending they have come to expect.
Stocky. Athletic. Fantastic lateral quickness / quick feet / pads. Ability to steal a game on any given night. Size is a factor when teams 'clog' the front of his net and take away his 'eyes' but he battles hard to make saves.
As noted - his season was much improved overall in the second half compared to the first - but his last ten game segment resulted in a 6-3-0-1 record - .897 % / 3.22 GAA
He will need to be the Preds best player in playoffs.

After suffering through some ups and downs, earlier in the season, he's back playing to the best of his ability
Workhorse. Has appeared in 49 games as of March 5th
His last five starts - from February 22nd - March 2nd - he posted outstanding numbers - 1.20 GAA / .955 save percentage
Butterfly athletic goalie. Competes to keep pucks out of the net. At times he gets outside his posts and has to travel a long way back to regain his crease - making him smaller in the net in the process
Great feet. Good low net coverage for his stature.
One more year left on a contract that pays $5.0 million but doesn't have trade protection.
Many high end years ahead. Only 28 years young.

Butterfly / Athletic goalie who is smaller than almost all his counterparts who are #1 goalies in the NHL
Speaks to his athletic ability overall.
Tracks side to side very quickly. Outstanding low net coverage / fast pads / great feet.
Never quits on a puck. Battles to make stops. No real holes in his game. Has given the Preds a chance to win games on nights they didn't deserve it in the past.
23/24 has been a bit off for stretches but remains an elite upper tier #1 overall.
GAA has historically ranged between 2.28 - 2.78 - Save % has ranged between .900 - .927
