At Boston University, especially in the second half of the 23/24 season, Hutson logged an incredible amount of ice time.
Considering he was used sparingly on the penalty kill, his average TOI ranging from 22:00 - 26:00 per game is an outlier.
Plays to a consistent identity. Dynamic playmaker. Sees the ice. Escapes pressure in small areas. Has the legs to lead zone exits on his own and attack off the rush. Extends plays in the offensive zone with his read/react/elite hockey sense.

Teams better not sleep on Hutson due to his smaller stature (5'10 161lbs). He's dynamic offensively. Hutson will quarterback one of team USA's power-play units. He's a dual threat who is equal parts shooter / distributor. Hutson is elusive with the puck on his stick. He has elite escape ability from his zone. He's also not shy defensively. Hutson has no problem closing quickly to kill plays in his zone. He has plenty of battle in his DNA.

Logs an incredible amount of ice time. In Hockey East Championship game he skated over (32) minutes in a game that ended in the first (5) minutes of OT when he scored the game winner from distance vs Merrimack.

Size will be the discussion. If he can add 20lbs in the coming years he will have no problem at the NHL level. More of a distributor than shooter.
He seems to have the puck on his stick every shift. Makes plays. Sees the ice. Elite vision overall. He can lead the rush or join it as an extra layer. His ability to spin off checks and make plays is exceptional. High end Hockey IQ and three zone awareness. He jumps to space quicker than opponents and relies on an active stick defensively.
