Poitras has settled in nicely at the NHL level. Averaging around 14:00 TOI
Deployed at ES and PP He doesn't PK.
200ft game has been sound. Tracks up and down the ice responsibly. Identifies responsibility off the puck. Element is offense. Leans distributor more than shooter. Doesn't play a heavy game in the trenches / along the wall / out front the net
Values time and space. Excellent vision. Pace is no issue for the speed of NHL game.

Young, developing, skill forward with junior eligibility
Earned a roster spot with the Bruins after a superb training camp in (23/24)
Excellent skater. Fantastic vision and puck touch. Leans play maker more than shooter.
Can be dangerous on the PP. Has the ability to almost QB a PP unit from the half wall / rotating up top in the zone. Makes plays through seems.
Has to be respected off the rush.
Defensive detail ranges at times but he has improved his three zone game a great deal over the last year of his development.
Leans 2F. The kind of player who needs to find a home in the top of the lineup and given opportunity to play to his identity.

Much better attention to detail on display at the Buffalo Prospects Challenge
Off the puck he was more engaged tracking back to assist in his zone
Down low in the offensive zone he battled and tried to create turnovers more than he has in the past. He was tenacious / involved. A different player to start the season. Needs to show he is willing to play with same conviction at the Major Junior level as he develops into a pro.
Solid skill. Moves well. Added strength will benefit his all round game.

His element is his potential to create offense
He's creative with the puck on his stick. He makes plays. Especially on the PP.
More strength required. Needs to find an extra gear.
Tracking back and in his zone he leaves much to be desired. His overall attention to detail and battle can be frustrating at times. If he goes to another level with his compete and detail his offensive element becomes even more attractive.
