Maxim Strbak Scouting Reports

His game went through several highs and low in season. Strbak suited up internationally at the U20's and U18's - as well as playing in the USHL. All three scenarios provided a different look. Arguably, his best work came at the WJC in Halifax when he was elevated to a top four / top two role. He's at his best in an organized environment. A competitive 2-way 'D' who might provide some secondary offense. At the season ending U18's he wore the 'C' and was deployed in all situations. He's a bit of an enigma at times but he moves well, competes, has the brain and skill to be used a variety of ways. Needs two / maybe three years at NCAA level.

Max gained momentum coming out of the WJC
He was used in a primary role for team Slovakia and showed he was capable of matching up versus top opponents and being deployed on the penalty kill
His game at Sioux Falls hasn't been as noticeable - but - he has good size - understated physical push back - agile - and generally makes smart puck plays
Going to college will assist with his development long term - He's a 2-way D on projection
