Has evolved into a solid second pairing 'D' who can be used in the top pairing if required.
2-Way / Transitional 'D' who distributes and joins the rush as an extra layer.
In the defensive zone he will surprise opponents, occasionally, by gapping up and finishing his checks with authority. Rotates well into shooting lanes to block shots.
Averages over 23:00 TOI. Bulk of his TOI comes at ES and PP. Some secondary PK.
Leans distributor more than shooter in the offensive zone.

He's suffered through some ups and downs as the games get more difficult down the stretch.
A 2-way / Transitional approach.
Light defender. Relies on jumping to space before opponents. When he is forced to engage physically he is at a disadvantage.
Forcing pucks, and poorly timed turnovers in key areas of the ice, have been an issue recently.
Has the skill set to be used at ES and on the PP.

A 2-way transitional 'D'. Hockey IQ is not an issue. He thinks the game well.
At times, especially below the hash marks in his zone, his execution needs to be better
An 'area' defender. He plays a light game defensively.
Not a burner. Explosive enough. Fast enough. But not a massive open ice threat.
Leans distributor more than shooter in the offensive zone
Jury is out if he can handle more minutes in key situations against top opponents.
