Ryan Strome Scouting Reports

Strome is a much more engaged player to start the 23/24 season.
He's coming off a year that he would like to forget defensively (-30)
So far, through the first 13GP he's a (+5) and completely turned things around.
Strome has never been the kind of player who can be counted on in key defensive scenarios.
His element is offense. He plays the game at above average speed and handles the puck well in transition and off the flank on the PP.
When he's producing the way he is (2G-12A) in the 13GP ... and not a liability defensively ... his value to the overall team increases exponentially.

One of his top scoring seasons in 21/22 including the most goals he has scored in a season (21) with 5 of his goals coming with the man advantage. Used primarily at ES and on the PP. Averaged just over 18:00 TOI. Benefited, to a degree, by playing big minutes along side Panarin. Between the blue lines Strome is not a speed threat off the rush. Once possession is gained in the offensive zone he provides vision and playmaking. A back door shooter on the PP from the flank. Occasionally deployed on the second unit PK. Reliable compete.
