I don't mind. I think we need short term guys to let Suzuki, Poehling and Brook play in the AHL for a year.

No problem. We have enough cap space for that.

MTL is dropping out because of a bad road record, PIT's will slip because they aren't finishing strong
maybe
TB - CBJ
TOR - NYI <----would be awesome
would love CBJ to take out TB in round 2. I feel like TB, SJ, WSH, PIT are all going to play dirty hockey and injuries or suspensions could just take us anywhere</div></div>
It will be tough, but I expect MTL to make the playoffs and play TB.

I expect a lineup like this.. but I guess Benn will play to begin the year and will be traded later like Mitchell last year.
It's between Ouellet and McCarron for the last spot... we will see. I think we should try McCarron to see if he can do like DLR last year.

No thanks, Mtl is in rebuild mode. Need a young LW (Fabbri) if you don't want to trade a center or d-man prospect (Dunn).

Montreal are in between right now. Because of Price, they are never in rebuilding mode. He can win it all by himself. I would wait until December to know where to go. Keep Pacioretty until the next trade deadline and he will fetch at least a first round pick anyway.
There will be a battle in camp for a few spots.

Keep all our vets to trade at the deadline so we use our cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danielcoe</b></div><div>might be so but if we could shed Schlemko contract might be better than Benn's.. he is reasonablely price and a good 7th def.. whereas schlemko needs to be in the top six and i dont think he is... if you are worried about losing lernout then maybe you need to lose someone but don't you only need to be down to 23 before the season starts , if so, just trade whoever doesn't have a good camp</div></div>
Anyway Schelmko should passed through waivers easily so Lernout can stay in the 23 players lineup.
I know McCarron seems like a bust but I'm sure the Habs will try it like they did with DLR this year so I expect him to at least start the year in MTL. Maybe Andrew Shaw will begin the year on LTIR.

I agree with the plan but some players will need waivers to go to the AHL like McCarron, Rychel, Lernout, Valiev. Do we take a chance to put them to waivers to send them ? You need a lineup of 23 players.
I think we should trade Benn right away and keep Lernout in the lineup to begin the year. Valiev/Schlemko depends of their camp.

He is done, caput, adios, top shelfed.......</div></div>
This 'proposal' is 100% a salary dump. I know Benn has not so much value. And Plekanec is only for a year before Poehling is ready.
