We have the cap space and the spot for him. I will think it's possible until he signs elsewhere.

I like Pacioretty. but Habs have too much wingers and not enough centers.

Let's rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>willinbulgaria</b></div><div>Agreed.
But the line combinations leave something to be desired.
I would have
Drouin, Galchenyuk, Scherbak
Hudon, Janmark, Gallagher
Lekhonen, Danault, Byron
Carr, A.Shaw, Deslauriers
L.Shaw.
Also, I think its time to ship out DLR, McCarron, Froese, Schlemko and Alzner (if you can) and make room for up and coming youngsters.</div></div>
I did the lineup really fast but I wouldn't trade DLR and McCarron just yet even tho both seems like busts. Let's try them this year.
Andrew Shaw should be traded too and McCarron could be call up and play on the fourth line. I just don't know who would want Shaw. We should get a second round pick and level B prospect for him.

Agree, but the Habs have enough cap space to sign him to what he wants. I think he will re-sign with the Islanders but Habs could sign him.

I think Juulsen and Evans will play some games next year but will be full time for 2019-20 season.
Mete could make the team if we go 8 D next year.

No problem, it fits in the salary cap if it's 78 000 000.
I will even edit it right now.

Not anymore, he's playing with Drouin but you're right. Then Vatanen for Galchenyuk.

It's too much for trade with the Islanders. I would target de Haan tho. Agree with that. I would maybe do the trade with Detroit, but only one for one.

Both depth AHL players. Laval (AHL) needed to shed a D-man, I guess Rochester (AHL) needed one.

Sure , we will help Detroit that badly needs to shed some cap space... they are not in a position of strenght
Or we help Detroit by acquiring a bad contract like Ericsson instead of Green.

Plekanec, Davidson for Sedins (lol)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nuxfan</b></div><div>Except that would never happen because...
1. Get the Sedin's to waive their NMC's
2. Find a team that can handle the salary and meet the Sedin's needs
3. Get a solid package in return
In this case step 1 can be skipped... Step 2 gets a check mark... Step 3 MTL is way off on value (a pair of firsts or Scherbak + pick at least IMO)</div></div>
I would go with Plekanec (salary dump), Scherbak and a 2nd round pick.

27 pts in 69 games last year.
He's a good 7th d-man now and his cap hit is really good. Nice assurance to have on press-box if injuries occur.

I don't see the use for Montreal to do that trade now that we have Drouin on wing for the top 6. We need a center.

I have no problem playing Bonino as a 3rd center, replacing Plekanec (6M as a 3rd center is costly, I prefer 4.5)
