<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>He is just below a point a game in his playoff career. This whole "he never performs in the playoffs" is wildly blown out of proportion. He isn't Johnny Hockey. He has had playoff success but the team as a whole hasn't done anything under Keefe. But people say stuff and then make up nonsense or ignore conflicting truths just to justify their own emotional nonsense.

You calling him a perennial playoff choker means you are the same as the rest. Reality doesn't matter. You likely haven't even looked into any of this or watch Marner but you know certain things because many say so. Why bother looking into anything when a mob of idiots say something that you agree with eh?</div></div>

I don't know why you're making assumptions on what I said but if you really need to know i've watched every Leafs playoff game dating back to their incredible choke against the Blue Jackets so you're just wrong there.

You're really using stats to justify Marner having "playoff success", what playoff success dude? They made it out the first round one time in the last 8 years they made the playoffs, you can blame Keefe all you want but when your stars constantly crumple what is he even supposed to do?

Are you about to tell me he played a good game because he scored a highlight reel goal now too?

Also its really funny how you point out Johnny hockey as a playoff choker when the last time he made the playoffs he had 3 goals and 11 assists including an OT winner to send the Flames to the 2nd round, and Marner had 3 goals and 11 assists the last time they made it out the first round, the exact same statline so how is one a choker and the other isn't?

But anyways I don't need to read stats to tell you he's a perennial choker because I can see him play like garbage with my eyes especially moments like when flipped the puck over the glass uncontested against the Habs, or when his poor coverage and lazy play led to the Marchand powerplay goal, or when he gets touched in front of the net and he starts whining and crying to the refs instead of getting back in the play.

Not to mention that Nylander was even ripping him apart on the bench so you're really fighting a one man crusade here buddy, everyone sees Marner for what he is, a whiny perennial choker who doesn't have a winning bone in his body making near 11 million dollars that can't be justified anymore.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>I can't defend many leaf fans. I literally just had a conversation with a fan who blamed Marner for the 3rd goal against in game 4. In that play he wasn't even on the ice. A lot of leaf fans are dumb as hell. They are all part of a mob of dummies that can't control their emotions and some want to dump Marner for nothing just so they can keep from losing their minds in disappointment.

As for Marner. He's the best player on many teams in the NHL. Absolutely the best player in Calgary and no one comes close. A 100 point player (he's scored at that pace over 82 games for 4 straight seasons) and Selke finalist has immense value. There is no rational argument against that. If he was on any other team (perhaps not Montreal) everyone would triple his worth in their minds.

Instead here we are seeing 100's of Marner trades where he gets less than rentals at the deadline who are less than half as good as Marner.</div></div>

I think its more because his worldbreaking talent is all he has and a whiny perennial playoff choker just isn't interesting for a team entering a rebuild trying to build a culture of winning.

Don't get me wrong from a talent perspective he may be top 15 in the league but he just isn't built for the playoffs, he's a regular season player and your fans and media are finally starting to accept that he isn't worth his money if you have any notion of winning the cup.

So in that way its not simply a value perspective, its a fit and winning perspective that most teams are taking in regard to a potential Marner trade, from the Flames perspective we don't see any fit for him on the team because paying a winger that much money to not be effective when it matters most is already something we're badly struggling with so doubling that and giving away our best right shot dman and probably future captain isn't a smart trade for the team, its simply an EA NHL trade that wouldn't work in real life.
