Carolina needs bottom 6 forwards who are 1) Fast 2) can score. Out of Guentzel, Rust, Sheary, Wilson, Kuhnackel. Wilson is known to have the best hands. Sheary is the fastest. And I have been impressed with Archibald. You are getting a top 6 forward, top 9 forward and a bottom 6 forward with a lot of playoff experience. Sheary can create on his own when he started out on this team. Wilson is best when you put him with skill and gets offensive zone starts. Penguins are not able to do that because the team is stacked. Carolina wants to trade Hanafin. I think that team needs forwards and goaltending. Taking Lack allows the team to either sign someone Bishop? See the other threat for Carolina. If that team cannot make it to the playoffs and compete for a cup with 1 or 2 additions with the 20M in cap space then I do not know what they can do for a cup.

Capitals New Era
I like the Calgary trade but Washington might have to add a 2nd. in 2017-2019

I think those guys will be busts compared to where originally people thought they might fit in a lineup, might be a bottom 6 or bottom pair d. Barber is probably the best. But Bowey and Vrana are your only legit close prospects. Johansen or Schlineger but they are a bit away.

Holy Grail
Say we do not win the cup this year. JT wants to win a cup in his career. 4th line Center. 1.75M 1year deal. I would be open to it. But resign Bonino for 2nd line center. He elevates in the playoffs.

rebuild #2
Here is a suggestion:
Holtby, B
Vrana, J
Backstrom, N
2018 1st round pick (WSH)
WSH
Hutchinson, M
Trouba, J
Ehlers, N
2018 1st round pick (WPG)
2019 2nd round pick (WPG)
So 2018 they move up like 10-15 spots and add a 2nd.

Look at what they're getting in return...</div></div>
4 years of Backstrom, 3 years of Holtby. Not awful term-wise and they do get elite players. Trouba and a first ..... Would solve the goalie problem in Winny. but I am just not sure they can do Ehlers too. They get 1 year of his ELC then more years as a RFA. He will probably sign a 6 year deal. But WPG are not yet a team of the now. They are like 1 or 2 pieces from it and one of those is a goalie. Moving those 2 pieces even if Trouba wants out I cannot see them doing it. The value of the trade is not bad but it is bad for WPG

Washington - Moves that will win us a cup
Let me tally this up.... 1 Cup among the entire team. Really going to help with the winning the cup goal.
Not to mention I am not sure that CBJ does that. I think Washington has to add.

Holy cow that team is horrible AND NOT EVEN TO CAP FLOOR. Sutter is an average 3rd line center.

If the Arizona Coyotes were not a budget team?
Yeah ummm... You are not getting RNH for a 2nd round pick.. and Matt Cullen will either retire or play for the Penguins. And it would be Coyotes that would add to Smith for Halak. Just saying.

Free Agent Frenzy
WTH(F) is this. Tear this up and throw it out. Hornqvist is not going anywhere. He is work more to us than a first round pick. Probably not to others. Horny is staying. D signings are pointless. Goalie ok. Except I would keep Cole.. And what did you do to the forwards.

Carolina Big Push
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nick628</b></div><div><i>ben Lovejoy at 4 mill for 3 years. Yikes....</i></div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alwaysnextyear</b></div><div><i>That's a good looking team! But KO should get more and Lovejoy much less on their deals.</i></div></div>
I agree but lovejoy had a great year and someone is going to overpay. that is the max he might get on the market. I think Carolina could be dumb enough to pay. He is often not good but not too often a liability. good for the young team and a great locker room presence. So give some of lovejoys cash to KO.
