Chicago Blackhawks signed Lukas Reichel (2 Years / $1,200,000 AAV)
Now Bedard, Reichel, Korch, EDM, and Nazar all end in same off season. Just hope they have enough leftover to extend Foligno…

Was wondering if he'd push for a one year deal. Nice to see the 2 year deal, less pressure on Reichel to perform this year and gives the Hawks more time to figure out what exactly they have in Reichel

Defense depth is packed but there's no urgency to make a move because there isn't any waivers issue.
NHL:
Matheson-Ghule
Harris-Savard
Xhekaj-Barron
Kovacevic
AHL:
Strubble-Mailloux
Hutson-Reinbacher
Engstrom-Trudeau
IMO KH will still try to trade Harris or Barron (draft) + Savard and Kovacevic (TDL), Reinbacher and Mailloux being called up. Nothing wrong with letting youth develop in Laval another year.

It's sad because Montreal is so deep at defense. I'm hoping his progression isn't like Norlinder's. Very, Very bright future stunted by the many top end Montreal prospects.

Signing a Vlasic to a long term deal with a Western Conference team has surely never gone wrong in the past

Solid contract, look at players like John Marino, Mikey Anderson, Mattias Samuelsson, etc who've signed this type of deal, Chicago has all the cap space and once they start competing getting Vlasic at 4.6 will be huge

Philadelphia Flyers signed Ivan Fedotov (2 Years / $3,275,000 AAV)
He's had a great KHL career, but this is an insane bet for a guy who came in and stunk the place up for 3 games. Could totally work out, but it's just as likely he's Russian Mikko Koskinen

Let them vote no without understanding the situation. It was the only way to get him over here and in case people forgot, we were left in a pretty precarious situation at goaltender because of another guy that shall not be named.
Also not about to stat bomb his 3 "games" in the NHL. One of the weirder situations for any player to go through let alone a goalie. And to just be thrown into the NHL for a team trying to get into the playoffs that was a tremendous amount of pressure, couldn't have felt too comfortable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_Habs_fan</b></div><div>He's played 3 NHL games and has a .811 in them, what???</div></div>
From Anthony DiMarco :
<em>I know the Fedotov AAV is higher than expected, but the contract was agreed upon prior to the player coming over from Russia.
I'm told that the contract had to be a certain number to get Fedotov to come to North America.
Not ideal, but understandable given the circumstances.</em>

I love Flower, but this seems rich for a guy who's been pretty mid this year. Minnesota needs all the money they can get too. Good mentor for Wallstedt I guess

Ken Hughes magic once again to make sure he doesn't lose precious NCAA prospects to free agency.
Montreal doesn't have a big top 9 winger in the pipeline, making Xhekaj and now Tuch overly important.

He put up 60pts this season, I would say he’d be one of the least worried dmen in Montreal. He’ll be a great mentor to Hutson, maybe finally we’ll have 2 solid PP units.
