Oilers and Flames Blockbusters!
I didn't think you could do any worse than yesterday, but you've managed to do so. This is honestly impressively bad.

Since EVERYONE thinks they need Kessel

I love that you've over valued Kessel on every Armchair this afternoon, keep it up!

Gee, so has, Thomas Vanek!
It's not that I'm saying Phil = Vanek, I'm just saying he'd be expected to have a much larger role with the Wild vs. the Pens, and in the past that did not work out all that great for him. He would need to be top 6 here and probably only works with a handful of forward pairings on our roster.

Phil goes home?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dudedude336</b></div><div>Phil is a tad bit better than Vanek lol, hes only 30, hes stupid fast, and he produces away from Sid and Geno on his own line with Sheahan before Brassard arrived, don't just assume everyone's numbers are bloated from the big two. He has insane numbers with less than superstar centers (Bozak, Sheahan, Brassard)</div></div>
I know Phil is quite a bit better than Vanek, just using that FA signing as a similar situation to the theoretical trade. I think at best Phil could slot in where we normally have Granlund, so he'd be with Zucker and Staal, but that line would probably be terrible on defense. He might pair nicely with Koivu and Greenway, or Koivu and Granlund though. Hard to say, plus we'd be dealing Coyle at a low point in his value. He's kind of injury prone so we probably haven't even seen a peak season from Coyle yet, he's literally nursing two surgically repaired wrists after this season at the moment and that was after missing a 1/3 of the year with a broken leg. Poor kid cant catch a break so the brass in the Wild org will probably wait to see if there are better hockey trades available that don't lose us a top pairing shut down d man.

Phil goes home?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>If duchene and barassard require a 3 way trade Kessel is untradable. The value needs to better from Minnesota</div></div>
Minnesota is no longer a retirement home for aging vets. Remember when we had Vanek? Kessel experiment would end in a similar result. The Wild are looking to get younger and faster, not grab someone who fits exceptionally well on the Pens but is questionable with unknowns like not having 2 of the best centers in the world to play with. Bad trade from the Minnesota side 100%, more value my ass.

Paul Fenton plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeyog</b></div><div>Koivu is really old and has no value with a huge cap. You understand that right?
And Coyle IS a liable 2nd line center
Ennis has a cap hit, but he can put up a decent amount of point totals.</div></div>
Koivu is still a regular selke finalist almost year over year. He can still play solid 2/3C minutes and there is no way we are giving our franchise player up for essentially what Mike Reilly returned. YOU understand THAT?
Coyle has not played Center regularly in almost 3 seasons, he is much better as a winger, 100% not a 2C.
Ennis was a 4+million AAV press box player almost the entire third half of the season. You don't watch a lot of hockey huh?

Paul Fenton plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeyog</b></div><div>how</div></div>
Charlie Coyle as a 2C, Ennis not bought out, Dumba would file for arbitration, Ottawa doesn't take that trade, nor does Minnesota, trading Koivu for a fifth is absolutely criminal, I mean how much else will I need to point out. I can't believe you simply responded with "how" unless you're just a troll hoping to get a rise out of someone. If that's the case. Bravo.

Seriously, Trouba is an RFA, it's not like Winnipeg doesn't want to sign him.. You can't assume GMJR is going to offer sheet him either, because that's a terrible idea.

The Wild probably couldn't afford to eat that much cap and shed our best stay at home defenseman (yes he's a better stay at home d man than Suter). I'd say Patches for Brodin straight up might be a better hockey trade for both teams.

A Team Built To Win
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabresfuturecupwinners</b></div><div>It's a trade based on two things. Potential & Cap savings. The potential is obvious a former 1st round pick with speed and scoring ability who'se only twenty years old and hasn't even come to close to hitting his floor yet & the 32nd pick in the draft (Top pick in the 2nd round) if even one of these players hits it's a win for them. They also get a once promising big and energetic player who is still young and really needs a change of scenery. All for a guy who was 9th in scoring last year for them and who carries a 5.25 cap hit for another three years. Frees up space to sign another proven winger and shake up the team who needs it if they want to advance past the first round of the playoffs for once.</div></div>
We will decline this trade 100% of the time, this is how you sour an otherwise good relationship with another franchise and get off on the wrong foot with a new NHL GM. Just my $0.02....

Carter to MIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jccamps18</b></div><div>I shouldn't have sounded so snarky, I am from MN and hear about the Wild all the time, and I just get frustrated because people talk about how they'll never win a cup, but the moment it comes to acquiring new players, it's like they won't help the team at all. It probably doesn't make sense to trade a 1st Rounder this year for Carter, but I think he would be the kind of player that could help. His 39 career playoff goals is 4 less than Granlund, Koivvu, Nino, Zucker, Coyle, Brodin, Spurgeon and Dumba combined, and even though he's on the older side, I think he's the kind of player the Wild need. Sorry if my comment was jerkish.</div></div>
Lol you're fine, I don't spend a lot of time on here so that's why I'm replying now. I understand that Carter has some great playoff success, I truly believe that is 100% behind him. The Wild have barely had success past the first round so naturally none of the staples of the team are going to have a lot of points. At this point wagering draft picks for a small win now scenario seems silly. The team definitely needs a shake up, just not wagering the future for an aging Jeff Carter.

There is absolutely NO WAY Paul Fenton is dealing out picks this year. Those are literally our only picks this year, yet Jeff Carter will take us to the next step? Please.
