They give up a top prospect, a decent d prospect, a veteran d-man, and a 1st to basically get a cheaper backup goalie. Not that Sutter is bad, but I don't think he's better than top 3 centers on our team. There has to be a better way to get rid of Lehtonen.</div></div>

Hamuis and lehtenen are both UfA's that wont be on the starts next year. Sutter has 3 more years , Nilson has 1 more and Gudbranson will most likely resign. All of the have resonable cap hits. Dallas would have a deep core for the next few years.</div></div>

Personally I agree with jccamps18 on this one. Interesting move but I don't see a need for Dallas to do this as most if not arguably all of their holes and needs are now covered. Plus I think it would be wise to have expiring contracts like Hamhuis and Lehtonen stick around cuz then that not only frees up cap but positions too for young prospects to step up and take. Rn Honka, Nemeth, Big Rig, Johns, Heatherington, Hansson (to name a few on D), Dickinson, Elie, Smith, Gurinaov(sp?), Nichushkin (if he returns(Mike Heika reports that he is expected to play for Dallas in 2018-19 as told by his agent Mark Gandler)), McKenzie, Hintz ( for the F) r going to be close to if not ready to go next yr and having spots taken from them won't help their development and will cost the Stars for it.
