Dallas Stars 2018-2019
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>Janmark wont 4.5 so you will have a bit more space</div></div>
I think Janmark is in the same boat as Klingberg and is 100% worth that kind of money. Think about it, the guy takes a year off due to medical reasons and then comes back the following year like nothing happened. To me, this benefits both parties as Janmark will get a fair/little bit more than what is normally given and the Stars organizations will get a good long term deal out of it as well.

Dallas Stars 2018-2019
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Starsfan98</b></div><div>I see some potential and merit here. This is close to what probably will happen.
But what about Heiskanen, for example? I think he should be in our system next year. Also probably some young guns from AHL, like Hintz or Gurianov should maybe get a chance.
4 stars for solid idea.</div></div>
Fair, Heiskanen should and will get a good look at next year, and Nill even said that he will come to North America next season. The reason I left him out was because he hadn't played North American style hockey. So give him a year, and then in 2019-2020 he takes Methot's spot when his contract expires. As for Hintz and Gurianov, I think it will come down to who is better between them, Elie, Dickinson, and Ritchie. Out of those 5 I think the latter three will make the cut due to their experience and potential. Otherwise yes I think Hintz and Gurianov will get a good look and a good chance. Thanks for the comment!

If Janmark Can't Play
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Karr31</b></div><div>Interesting ideas. I like the Nemeth for Greer trade. I personally feel like Shore would likely slot on the left side of the 2nd line, and if Dickinson were looking like he's back to playing well he could slot on the 4th line to start. As far as Oleksiak, I'd be fine with dealing him as well, but I believe Nill could bring in more than a 4th in 2019. As D can develop late, he's got some solid raw tools, and my bet is Nill would rather take another year of patience with him before selling that low. It wasn't until his 5th NHL season (1st in Ottawa) before Zdeno Chara found his game, Oleksiak could be a similar story.</div></div>
I also agree with Karr31 on the Nemeth-Greer trade and on the Oleksiak part. Pateryn (IMO) will be traded or released before Big Rig but I have to disagree on the Shore over Dickinson for 2LW. Yes Shore has more experience but I think Hitch will like to keep his centres stable and only play as centre (ex. maybe Spezza and Seguin from time to time). Plus Dickinson would greatly benefit from playing with Spezza and Hanzal (two natural centres with skill and size), plus get some big NHL minutes, and not be in a highly important position (Centre is more important than Wingers and this is coming from a guy who played wing for 6 years and centre for only 1). Dickinson did play some minutes at Wing for Texas Stars too so he won't be out of place.

Buying out Lehtonen to trade for Vatanen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Willian_Cardoso</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Starsfan98</b></div><div>I like this trade, but I'd really give Honka a chance in NHL. In my opinion, he is better than Pateryn.</div></div>
The problem is I don't think Ducks would accept this trade for Pateryn. If I were their GM, I'd just accept this trade if Johns and Faksa were on the table. That's the price for a player like Vatanen.</div></div>
Starsfan98 is saying take Pateryn out of the starting roster and put Honka in instead.
The trade to me is good, it sucks that we lose Faska and Johns as I do like them both and think they will have strong seasons + careers in the NHL. On a side note (and I now that this roster was posted before the deal happened) but Enroth is no longer an option. Who would u replace him (Enroth) with?

Vancouver Dallas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>boss187911</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jccamps18</b></div><div>There doesn't really seem to be a need for DAL to do this. They give up a top prospect, a decent d prospect, a veteran d-man, and a 1st to basically get a cheaper backup goalie. Not that Sutter is bad, but I don't think he's better than top 3 centers on our team. There has to be a better way to get rid of Lehtonen.</div></div>
Hamuis and lehtenen are both UfA's that wont be on the starts next year. Sutter has 3 more years , Nilson has 1 more and Gudbranson will most likely resign. All of the have resonable cap hits. Dallas would have a deep core for the next few years.</div></div>
Personally I agree with jccamps18 on this one. Interesting move but I don't see a need for Dallas to do this as most if not arguably all of their holes and needs are now covered. Plus I think it would be wise to have expiring contracts like Hamhuis and Lehtonen stick around cuz then that not only frees up cap but positions too for young prospects to step up and take. Rn Honka, Nemeth, Big Rig, Johns, Heatherington, Hansson (to name a few on D), Dickinson, Elie, Smith, Gurinaov(sp?), Nichushkin (if he returns(Mike Heika reports that he is expected to play for Dallas in 2018-19 as told by his agent Mark Gandler)), McKenzie, Hintz ( for the F) r going to be close to if not ready to go next yr and having spots taken from them won't help their development and will cost the Stars for it.

Opening Night
I like it, looks a lot like how I would guess it to look like. Just curious tho (not bashing on the idea), but y is Shore a 3rd line W and Ritchie on the 4th? The line of Roussel-Faska-Ritchie was very productive and had some solid "bite" to their style of play. Plus Shore on the PP2 over Faska, Ritchie or Cracknell? Just curious otherwise great.

Goldie078 I don't think I could have said it better myself. Honestly found it hard to really do anything with this roster cuz Nill has done a pretty darn-close-to-perfect job. Now just need to see the results.
