Yea, Tulsky probably wants out too. Heard his last contract negotiation got ugly when he asked Dundon for $15 an hour

Bouchard is much bigger. I wouldnt mind Parekh, but if Cayden is there that’s who I want all day. You also have Parekh ranked 3 spots lower, so i also value BPA over need.

Why not just add the 3rd rounder from the Sens and bring in TVR? He's a good fit for the Sens biggest need for next year.

Devils accept imo, some would disagree but I like TVRs play and I think he could fit on the left side.
I think my order of preference on vets (off the top of my head) in this bracket would be
McNabb, Cole, TVR, Dumoulin, Brodie, Forbort

He wasn't scouted much until he popped off during the U18s. After Hagens, Stiga was USA's best player.

Ehhh I don't know...8.5m for 8 more years on the 4th line or 4.1m in the AHL for 3 more years...
Both are brutal and I'd assume PLD has a higher chance of a bounce-back season

I gotta admit, "if you get the 17oa pick for Spence I assume you take it" is a pretty compelling argument, especially considering our 2024 dance card and the number of free-agent third-pairing RhDs suitable for immediate employment. This is a trade that could easily happen and although I would miss one of my favorite Kings, I wouldn't be surprised.

Playoffs one more time
CHI will most likely be interested in trading up, but I highly doubt they are selecting Jiricek. He won't go as early as a lot of public scouts have him. I think he will slide to the 2nd round. CHI has a much bigger need for top of the lineup forwards, and at that 17 to 20 range the talent pool is pretty much the same this year. I don't think they will be clamoring to move up 3 spots unless someone they REALLY like is falling in the draft order, like Moore did last year. I'd be more interested in keeping the Tampa pick and packaging some other picks and/or prospects together to get a third 1st round pick, and I would prefer it to be in the 15 - 10 or higher (unlikely) range.

Ovechkin needs to retire
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>I assume he would love to get out of that market</div></div>
This market is bi polar. Remember when Nylander was a selfish overpaid player Leafs fan called ME-Lander because he was a contract holdout and missed 1/3 of a season, then he was a lazy playoff floater until he had 1 good playoff and now 1 great regular season and he cashes in on a 8 yr $90+ million deal.
Marner will not be traded, this isn't his first time dealing with unhappy fans, Mitch went back to back seasons without scoring a playoff goal, yet he stayed and appeared in the Allstar games afterwards.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>Far more likely to get Marner. Zegras is a lazy player. I would hard pass on him. Rather target Ehlers or Batherson</div></div>
Marner will say no to any trades, that's the power of owning a NMC.
Sens would be a good trade partner for the Caps.
Also Laine needs a new home if you like him.

Let them like each other posts. They pick and choose their arguments and argue in bad faith, continually. Ignore them.
Ryan Leonard should have been a top5 pick last year. Unreal talent. He's looking like the next Brady Tkachuk with better hands.

Marner to the Capitals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>I imagine there will be a “bidding war” for him so I added more than I wanted to eliminate bias and juice up the offer.
Ovechkin is fat and old and likely won’t be that effective unless he actually trains this summer</div></div>
Fair enough, I don’t think there will be a bidding war for him tbh. Guentzel is arguably a more desirable player than him yet he only fetched a 2nd and a bunch of B tier prospects.
Plus I think Treliving will be desperate, he will trade him for Seth Jones or Rasmus Ristolainen.
