SJ Next Season with Celebrini Reinhart DeBrusk Toffoli Walker Foegele
Toffoli wants the Killorn contract. This is why Calgary traded him to begin with and now why New Jersey has traded him. Someone will give him a long term deal with a good cap hit, it just probably won't be a contender. But you can't be a bottom feeder and expect to get him on a cheap short term deal

Good for Vegas in short term and good for Sharks in long term (hopefully). Most hockey writers love the trade for both teams. Next couple years will be brutal but Sharks are all in on the rebuild, have shed a lot of long term contracts and are well positioned to turn it around

Hawks Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>Hawks have decent F prospects in Nazar and Moore. Definitely need more than that but they have time. That TB pick should help them out pretty good. The Isles are right on their heels. I would be thrilled if TB missed the playoffs. I’d prefer to see NJ in there instead of the Isles but I will not complain.
Nothing wrong with grabbing a stud RD imo.</div></div>
Hawks have Jones for 6 more years. Rinzell's development in the two years since he was drafted has been better than everyone expected. He looks like a legit NHL prospect. And Nolan Allen, former 1st round pick, has been playing mostly on the right side the past two years, and he could be in the NHL season after next. And Murphy still has 2 years left on his deal. Does another RD make sense? Sure. Using a top 5 pick to get one over another forward? Guess we just disagree on that.

I think the first pick determines the second pick for them. If they draft Celebrini or Lindstrom (I'm not sold on Demidov that high due to Russian risk) then pick two will likely be a RD. If they select Levshunov then look for them to take a forward like Iginla with T-Bay's pick. Not sure he drops that far but I think it'll be someone with skill and grit.

Well u know I'm a big Leshevnov fan so that wouldn't bother me a bit. Maybe if they fall to 3rd overall and Celebrini and Lindstrom go 1-2. Demidov is a stud, but I have concerns about how soon he actually comes over. I just don't think it will be in 25/26. Do the Hawks risk spending #3 overall on a guy who might not play for them for 4 or 5 seasons?

I’m also hoping TB doesn’t make playoffs and ends up around 14-16 and Tij Iginla is available.

Would like to see them extend sharangovich, he's still young. Everyone was giving Conroy an F for that trade when it was done, sure starting to look like an A now.

Conroy wants NHL Ready Prospects and/or Younger Players, so it’s more likely the latter
VEG is looking to push them down and out of the lineup by replacing them anyways, so it’d be win-win to get NHL Ready Young Players

Indeed.
Flames fans have been saying for months how badly they need a good young C prospect.
Conny got them one.

Edstrom is an excellent prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>I saw that too. I'm not waiting 4 drafts to make that pick.</div></div>
Idk... I kind of like the idea of having at least two 1st round picks for 6 drafts in a row. Keeps the pipeline stocked with high end talent and the supply flowing continuously for when players inevitably price themselves out. Also, who knows where EDM will be in the standings, McJesus and Drai could have walked in free agency by that point and they could be back at the bottom of the standings. Could be some very good (and affordable) players or we could use the picks in trades to address roster needs.

Gibson is more than decent. But he’s in his prime and ANA isn’t at all ready to compete. He’s wasting away his best years with us, and will be approaching UFA once we’re competing. Let him go fight for the cup
Meanwhile, we have 2 solid young Cs in Leo and McT. 2 solid LWs in Z and Gauthier. But only 1 young RW locked in with Terry. Holtz would be a great addition. Nice to give Leo a Swedish winger to play with too

Tarasenko
Think Vegas makes a lot of sense for Tarasenko. Branny probably an off season kind of thing/ draft day trade. Think a low 2nd would be the absolute best case but thinking more a low level prospect and a 3rd would be what he would fetch. Kubalik retained might get some suitors, but yeah not expecting much from that one either lol anything more than FC is a win at this point

That's not enough for 50% retention for 3 years. CGY will want to retool and they already have somewhat cap issues. Can't have 3mil hanging around that long
