Well, <strong>that's</strong> a different Pesce trade than the usual. Would still need to figure out 2RD, but intriguing.

With the report coming out saying that PLD would sign for more with a rebuilding team MTL would need to move a bigger salary to make the money work. the only bigger salary pplayers they would be interested in would be Suzuki, Caulfield, Dach. Unless MTL would be willing to trade for example Anderson along with #5 overall.</div></div>
you won't get either those players or 5th pick for PLD. MTL will just wait it out till next year and if we miss out on him to another team then so what.
I think the value is right but I don't see MTL dealing those players or that 5th pick

The young prospect I wish they go after is Spencer Knight

Retooling the Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>According to the report from the Athletic because MTL isn't a contender the price for PLD would be closer to $9M. But he said for a contending team he would take less.
If im a team like BOS, NYR, COL (contending teams) I would slightly over pay for him. The reason being these are teams that have strong leadership and have stars that can out shine PLD. But PLD is a player that has all the tools to be a 1C. We have seen glimpses of it. But because both markets he has played in he has been "The Guy". Whether that meant being a top 3 draft pick in Columbus and pretty much the only skilled played back when he was there. Or in WPG he was always labelled the guy who we got for Laine (who was loved by the fanbase) So he was always focused on. Which it seems he doesnt like.
I'm actually happy with that report that came out from the Athletic because it gives Chevy more leverage against other teams to actually get a decent return for him. kind of like the Tkachuk situation last year.
What would your thoughts be if the package from MTL be Justin Barron, Anderson, and FLA 2023 1st?</div></div>
We're thin on RHD and Mailloux is a very decent prospect. As for FLA 1st (31/32OA) I wish they package it with 37OA (and more, including prospects) to get a higher 1st round pick -- I'm looking at PIT 14OA.

I’m on the opposite side of all comments you will see from Canes fans - it hurts but I’d do this for KC. I’d push for a lesser pick or prospect first but I’d welcome Kyle with open arms.
The rest of the Canes fans will under value Connor and simultaneously over value both Morrow Necas and the 2024 1st.

I'd do that for Dubois, but we'd have to move significant cap space to make it work and after this deal I don't know if we'd have the assets to do that.
Other problem is Dubois obviously wants to play in Montreal and I'm not sure I want to sign up for that headache in 2 years...

I wish they let another team offer him 8 x $9m. PLD will whine within 2 years and we'll get him for the remaining 6 years of his contract at 50% retained.
I'm not a fan of overpaying for him. I feel sorry for you guys in Winnipeg. I wish you get what you want for him and that it doesn't come from Montreal. Anything beyond Anderson, CAL 2025 1st and Kidney qualifies as an overpay for me.

Not gonna lie I'd take that deal if I was Drury, Trocheck has a NMC though and I doubt he'd waive it for Winnipeg.

Not horrible for WPG. Engström looks like he would be a great future D, but since you have Barron as your 7th, the Jets would still prefer him over Engström.
The Jets really don't want Dvorak.
Make it Engström, Barron and the FLA pick.

Kevyns Plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Winnipeg accepts that for sure. Has Jokiharju really dropped off or why only a 2nd round pick for him?</div></div>
The fanbase's opinion of Jokiharju is drastically lower than what Adams and Granato's opinions of him are - and fans don't form the roster or dress the lineup. It's pretty clear, based on what each man has said, that they see Jokiharju as part of their future. He may be slotted on the 3rd pairing if they find a more experienced addition on the 2nd pairing but thinking that Jokiharju will be dumped to any team that wants him is purely a fan's unrealistic wish.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUF10</b></div><div>Kevyn Adams would rather have Dustin Tokarski than Matt Murray. He’s not going to want Murray after he already said no to them.</div></div>
1000% correct. If there's one thing Adams has preached since he first started, it's that he only wants players that want to play in Buffalo. Murray already made his feelings known last year - any reversal in hindsight he may make in waiving this time would appear self-serving and disingenuous and Adams would likely see that. Besides, with his injury history, what would the benefit of bringing him in be when he'd be less reliable health-wise than what the Sabres have now?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GetTuched</b></div><div>So keep the defense the same? They just can't go status quo, disaster waiting to happen</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUF10</b></div><div>They will add another defenseman. I think it will be a LHD to play with Lyubushkin Stillman 7D Bryson waived.</div></div>
If they add a proven veteran defenseman to stabilize the top 4 with Dahlin / Power / Samuelsson, that'd allow Jokiharju to be slotted to the 3rd pair beside Lyubushkin. With Stillman and Bryson around the same age and cap hit but with Stillman offering some rare physicality over Bryson, I'd anticipate that Bryson will be dealt or waived by training camp.

That's a fair point.
This illustrates that the Jets desire to only move Wheeler without salary retention means that he will be with the Jets this season. The teams that could afford to take on his full salary are places that he wouldn't waive for.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Feelers4Ehlers</b></div><div>Would the Isles ever trade Keifer Bellows for Brendan Dillion? What are Isles fans thought with Bellows? If the Jets sign Dubois long term the Jets won't need another C prospect. Pretty solid down the middle. I also thought that Dillion would be a great fit for the Islanders. He would pair nicely with either Mayfield or Dobson.</div></div>
Most likely Bellows gets a chance with Lambert as the new HC. I don’t think Lou moves him until he gets a full year to see what he can do. On the low end he will be a solid 3rd liner, maybe a 2nd liner probably topping out as a 20/20 guys.
