<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Hawks definitely do not need another RHD prospect. They have both Boqvist and Mitchell ready next year and both are projected to be a #1 and #2 line player. Plus the Hawks already have Jokiharju who's only 19 and already playing, Murphy who's been the best defensive player for the Hawks this year, and Seabs who's contract will never get moved. That's 5 RHD guys next year, Hawks aren't looking for any RHD guys. On the left Hawks have Krys and Beaudin as prospects and Koekk, Dahlstrom, Forsling all as young 20's guys plus Keith and Gus. Hawks are in a giant logjam with defenders and are looking to move 1 or 2 pieces not add.</div></div>
Ah, I didn't realize Boqvist and Mitchell were so close to NHL-ready. Thought they'd be a while and you'd want another young RD to take a chance on in the meantime.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>What about Leon and Lucic for Saad and Anisimov?</div></div>
No. As much as I dislike Lucic, Draisaitl is too good.

Really, my thinking here was to put Saad and Drai together. I've long wondered what it would take for the Oilers to have that high-quality second line, and now that Draisaitl is demonstrated to be the best passer among the NHL's elite, I'm thinking he needs a sniper. And Saad gets most of his points shooting rather than setting up. If the Oilers are looking at Chicago as a trading partner, and have already stated a need for a winger, and are pushing to improve now, he's of interest. And for the Hawks... You're 2 points out of last place. You're probably not going to be a contender in the next two-ish years. And that's exactly the wrong time for Saad's contract to expire. If you're not going to keep him (and I suspect that you're not), get max value by trading him now and letting the younger players play his minutes. So what is the value of a decent scoring winger making a little bit too much money? I'd talk about Anisimov too, but he has an NTC, and no one chooses to join the Great Smouldering Oil Fire of the North unless they're really desperate.

If the Hawks don't want defensive prospects, and feel pretty well stocked at forward, then... nothing but goalies and draft picks? I actually don't think the Hawks are that strong at forward. Kunitz and Kruger are about to go UFA, and if Saad is leaving, that leaves you with 10 on the currently active roster. You could play Entwistle, Barratt, And Kurashev, but do you want to? Someone has to play limited minutes on the 4th line and play the PK. Jujhar Khaira is an actual NHL forward, has played on every line, is on the penalty kill, is a fairly big player, is only 24... He's not going to save anyone's team, but he's a useful player.

If we swap out Mantha for a 4th-rounder, does that get a deal done?
