If you love him that much you could at least make it a first rounder lol

Habs 2020-21 Sergachev Killorn Pacquette Smith Kovalchuk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Glorieux</b></div><div>That was probably a cheap shot on my part and I should be more careful; sorry about that.
I do want the Sens to be better sooner rather than later and do think Byron could help them rebuild because I don't think they can do it with just 1-year cheap veterans to play with the young players. Ottawa's got a great prospect pool and will be good again for sure sooner rather than later, but we'll just have to agree to disagree that this is a bad way to do it. One thing to keep in mind is a problem the Habs had this year: too many picks in the late rounds. It's a real problem because what happened with the Habs is that they had so many later round picks in the past few years that when they got time to sign they didn't all get contracts because they're a max 50 that NHL teams can have at any one time. In other words, the Sens actually can have too many prospects; and this year they also have 3 first rounders and 4 second rounders. If the goal will be to sign most of those picks, there won't actually be space for many third and 4th rounders unless they find a diamond-in-the-rough.</div></div>
Thank you. I appreciate the apology. Even when I don't agree with someone's post I love talking hockey with knowledgeable and passionate fans, which you clearly are. Byron is a good player. This just happens to be the first season in a cap crunch that teams were not prepared for. And Ottawa with so much cap space, and so many picks and prospects, are going to have an insane amount of options available to them. I'm hoping they really think things through before taking on vets with longer contracts. I don't think hockey (or the world) is going back to normal any time soon and every move by Dorion should be done with that in mind. Until we chat again - agreeing to disagree. :cool

Arizona just got HAMMERED by the NHL
So they don't draft until the fourth round for two years, and they're right up against the cap with 17 players.
Coyotes are selling this offseason.

Habs 2020-21 Leddy Killorn Vesalainen
Why would you give that much up for Killorn just to put him on the fourth line?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>masterjuddi</b></div><div>Jets say yuppers to that deal, but there will be no retention in any Leddy deal. the islanders need to clear cap space not pay someone money to play against them</div></div>
Correct. Isles won't retain. You can lower it to two 3rds or a 3rd and a 4th, but no retention.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Glorieux</b></div><div>While I'm a Habs fan first I'm also a really big Jets fan. Honest reality is that there aren't a lot of options available right now on the market for young-ish centres that can put up points. I know some people have floated the idea of just making Wheeler a full-time C. That could work but would probably be disappointing. Anyway, we'll see what happens.</div></div>
I agree, there aren't a lot of options. The Jets just have to be careful on any trade they make so that we actually make the team better and not just move the top 6 hole from center to wing or whatever.
That's why I'm against moving any of our top 5 for Domi, because at best we break even and move the hole from center to wing. Our 1st round pick shouldn't be in play either due to Domi's contract situation.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets1pt0</b></div><div>Jets do that deal in a heartbeat. Domi is much better than Roslovic.</div></div>
It's not just who's better, you have to consider everything. As I said it would depend on 2 things. First, Domi apparently wasn't happen in Montreal partly due to the cold weather. If he can't hack Montreal weather, he won't want to come to Winnipeg.
Second, would be his contact demands. If Domi wants to be paid off of his career year, then he isn't worth pursuing.

I'm not a huge Domi fan, but depending on Domi's contract demands and whether or not he still wants to play in Canada. This would be a possibility.

Serg has just gotten over his anger when Montreal traded him. No way tampa can match that.
