Leafs Draft Was It any good
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>Ya haha.</div></div>
There are two players that I am excited about: (not that the rest is bad or so)
1. Ovchinnikov
One of the youngest players in the draft. Can absolutley fly. and made KHL games for one of the better teams in the league at age 17. Scored very well in the junior league 5vs5. I think only a few points came on the PP.
He is not tiny, but needs to grow into his own body (but as said, is one of the youngest in the draft)
2. Topi Niemleä
Some had him at the end of the 1st round. Fantastic hockey IQ and is very good at most things he does, without being elite. He could become a solid 4/5 D.

Unqualified RFAs

if it would have been a question of money, they could have qualified him and then trade him to another team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>I can only see Dumba being moved either FOR a C or for the pieces for a C. So unless this is a three way trade, I don't see it happening.
Also Dumba isn't really what the Leafs need. He is a slightly more physical Barrie.</div></div>
I don't think Dumba is that good. Dumba always plays next to two solid Ds in their own zone with Suter and Brodin.
Dumba is good offensivly and has a big hit once in a while.
I'd rather have a guy who can defend and who has a reasonable cap hit.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buffbry</b></div><div>Not on detroit he's not, maybe to a playoff team, this is where the issue is, but absolutely not on the wings. We aren't trading our picks, it's been stated over and over by our gm</div></div>
I agree. Which is why I said a mid 2nd. The Detroit pick will probably be the 33rd pick or so, which is not a mid 2nd.

I don't like what you do on the backend.
Lehtonen is in my opinon playing on the top 4 of the Leafs.
TVR is not good for that price and I'd like them to move Dermott

Eriksson to Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KubaH</b></div><div>It wouldn't be easy, that's right. But Pearson (3,75), Sutter (4,38), Edler (6) and Benn (2) are UFAs. That's about 16M in cap space. To make it all work, the Canucks would have to convince Kraken to choose Myers (probaby add a sweetener), or both Rousell and Beagle.
EDIT: I made another AGM team for the following season.</div></div>
that is not wrong, but also, those are 4 bodies that need to be replaced. Let us say all of them will make 1m each, leading to only 12m in space.

He was not as productive as he used to be, and is not good in his own zone

Not sure about that. It is easier to play winger than D and Sandin did really well so far.
and yes, but there was just no D available with the Leafs picks that made sense.
They got a solid D in my opinion with Topi Niemelä, who looks like a solid prospect

Underrated prospect pool
Not bad. What you should check out once is the concept that Dobber Prospects is using.
They use a ranking from 1 to 10 in terms upside and likelyhood. Which I think is quite good.
So I'd say for example:
Abruzzese:
Upside: 7.5
likelyhood of making it: 3
Hallander
U: 6.5
L: 7.5

give him an extra year. He is a great scorer, but it is better for him to develop into a more complete player before playing in the NHL. I would prefer him in 2 years from now

That Dumba trade is horrible. Dumba is a good offensive and physical D, but actually not very good at defending. Exactly what the Leafs don't need. Plus, Nylander is the much better player than Dumba
